Level 1 OYAP
Level 1 OYAP is a competitive opportunity for students entering grade 12 who are ready to jumpstart their post-secondary apprenticeship education while still in high school. Through the Level 1 program students combine OYAP (Co-op in a skilled trade) with Level One (Basic Apprenticeship) training in the second semester of their grade 12 year. They sign a Registered Training Agreement with the OYAP employer and have the chance to complete the first of 2, 3 or 4 levels of training on the road to Journeyperson certification. Applications come out in the spring and seats are limited. Be sure to plan ahead so that you have the best chance at getting a spot. Speak to a teacher in your Co-op Department to make sure you have all of the information you need.
